Our Mission

At Collaborative Counseling Center we are committed to providing high quality therapy services to our clients through the framework of a collaborative alliance. In short, we work hard to do the personal work in our own lives to offer you therapy from a high level of integrity and compassion. It also means we focus on doing what needs to be done to help our clients, even when it’s challenging or difficult. We believe this is the best way to assist our clients in accomplishing the changes they are striving toward.

Our Approach

At Collaborative Counseling Center the primary approaches we practice are Crucible Approach and Crucible Neurobiological therapy, developed by Drs. David Schnarch and Ruth Morehouse. They are differentiation based therapeutic approaches that focus on personal growth and integrity as well as increasing one’s anxiety tolerance and capacity to resolve problems. Many therapeutic models focus on anxiety reduction, which often keep clients stuck in their current situation as they aren’t able to face or take the necessary steps to resolve their issues. These approaches also follow the notion that romantic relationship problems, including sexual desire problems, are a normal part of development and an inevitability in long-term relationships. Differentiation base therapy teaches you how to use the dilemmas inherent in your relationships to resolve them.
